Minecraft Recipe Book Search Not Working

Minecraft recipe book search not working. It looks like the search bar of the recipe book does not work if you just opened the recipe book and it was not open before. In the recipe book there should be a search bar near the magnifying glass icon allowing players to click on the icon to search up the craftable items blocks in each section of the book. You will need to press controller button x in order to see the recipe in the crafting grid.

Books are items used in enchanting and crafting. In the recipe book there should be an actual border for the search bar which can appear upon the player clicking on the magnifying glass icon rather than having it be mysteriously there in. When clicking a recipe it briefly loads it into the crafting window then automatically clears it without creating the item.
