Images you should not book. 72dpi should not be a stumbling block for including images in a book. Take your own creative photos of the book. I m going to assume that you ve spent a lot of time finding the perfect pictures to illustrate what you re saying and that you ve made absolutely sure that you have the right to include them in your book.
The printer wasn t happy. The designer was not happy. Choking the chicken spanking the monkey airing the orchid whatever you call it none of the images in this book will encourage the gentle art of self pleasure.
They wanted 150dpi minimum. The reality is it s actually not as cheap as you d think if you re remaining compliant and using the images they re intended. People should not write a book if they re doing it for the wrong reasons.
If you haven t already done so consider going through all the images on your website. Use an image of you holding up the book the book next to a cup of coffee the book on a shelf etc. It s a recipe for disaster and not worth the hassle time and cost.
If you have an online store you need to include high definition images to drive higher engagement and sales. These small images are generally considered fair game for artwork and photography so a book cover in this size should be legal under copyright law based on precedence set in court cases. You re not to blame it s simply that licensing.
Why do you want to write a book. The images look awesome. When someone asks me if they should write a book i always ask these questions.
